Wedding at The Mattress Factory | Lauren & Justin

I was anxiously anticipating the wedding day of Justin and Lauren.  Their engagement session was epic- so I knew their wedding day was going to be even better.

The couple held their entire event at The Mattress Factory on the North Side in Pittsburgh.  For those of you that think this location is a place of mattresses you would be mistaken.  Here is an excerpt from their website:

“The Mattress Factory is a museum of contemporary art that presents art you can get into — room-sized environments, created by in-residence artists. Located in the historic Mexican War Streets of Pittsburgh’s North Side since 1977, the Mattress Factory is one of few museums of its kind anywhere.”

I have never been to this museum- but knew I was in store for some pretty cool things.  There were a lot of neat installations that I was able to photograph the B & G in- which is always a plus!  We had full reign of the location- and even outside of the building, among the sidewalks and streets.

Great way to get a “first look” photo without actually looking.

The bouquet is in the shape of an S- which is the beginning initial of their last name.  Great idea!

The Devil is in the Details.  Love these forks.

When I initially saw this room I thought to myself, “how in the heck am I going to pose them in here?!?!”  Luckily for me, Lauren and Justin are awesome and jumped right in!  All I had to do was press the button. =)

This room is actually only lit by black light.  As cool as black light is- people just look scary in it- ha ha.  As soon as I hit them with some flash- the images came alive.

Lauren and Justin are the best- and I had the best time working with them.  I look forward to many more photographic opportunities with them in the future. =)
