Engagement Photography Pittsburgh – Engagement Photography Checklist – Pittsburgh Engagement Photography

The engagement shoot — it’s a time where everything starts to feel real and you’re one step closer to the wedding! The engagement photos are an important part of the big day — they not only give you options to send along with wedding invitations and save-the-dates, but you’ll definitely want to record this special time in your life. For most people, an engagement photography shoot in Pittsburgh is the first real experience behind the camera…so of course you might be feeling a little nervous or unsure what to expect!

If you like to be prepared (and who doesn’t) or you just want to keep things stress free (this is not the time to be stressing — it will come out in your pictures!) take a look at this checklist of things to do and have so you spend more time having fun and less time worrying about what you’re forgetting.

Plan to have hair and makeup done — This doesn’t have to be done in order to have nice pictures, but it’s a great way to do a test run with your makeup artist or hair stylish PLUS you get to have gorgeous hair done just in time for your engagement photography in Pittsburgh. Whether you decide to have your makeup professionally done or not for the engagement shoot, have some essentials on hand for touch-ups. Powder, lipstick and concealer are always great to have in case you need to refresh half-way through.

Hairspray — The last thing you want to worry about is a hair emergency! Have some hairspray on hand so you can tame any unruly strands or you can help hair stay in place if the weather isn’t cooperating.

Pack a snack and drinks — If your shoot is planned throughout the day, grab a snack bar or a beverage to store in a tote so it’s ready when you want something. The last thing you want to be during a Pittsburgh engagement shoot is hangry — and you don’t want your partner to start feeling worn down either. A quick snack and water or coffee is a great way to keep the energy up during the shoot.

Don’t forget manicures — There are plenty of amazing shots that are done focusing on hands — holding hands, touching your partner’s face or even showing off rings! Don’t forget to schedule a manicure (your partner, too!) so that you’re both ready for any close-up shots.
